Teal Mobility inaugurates two hydrogenrefueling stations in Leipzig and Nuremberg

Leipzig, February 20th, 2025 – TEAL Mobility, an equally owned joint venture by TotalEnergies en Air Liquide, unveils today two new public hydrogen refuelling stations in Leipzig and Nuremberg (Hormersdorf), Germany, under the TotalEnergies brand. These stations, offering both 350 bar and 700 bar pressures, are located at Poststraße 3, near exit 22 of the A14 motorway (Leipzig station), and at Juraleite 2, near exit 47 of the A9 motorway (Nuremberg/Hormersdorf station).

A hydrogen corridor through Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg
The completion of these two new hydrogen stations enables the strategic Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) network. These stations enhance the existing network of hydrogen stations, establishing a corridor between northern and southern Germany, from Berlin to Munich. This allows trucks, as well as commercial light vehicles, to refuel with hydrogen in Berlin (Schönefeld), Leipzig, and Nuremberg (Hormersdorf). Additionally, they connect Germany to France, Belgium, and the Netherlands through the existing stations in Frankfurt (Hirschberg) and Bettembourg in Luxembourg, all operated by TEAL Mobility.

The hydrogen refueling stations in Leipzig and Nuremberg (Hormersdorf), funded via the German National Innovation Programme Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology NIP, will also support the H2Haul and HyCET projects. H2Haul is an EU-funded initiative aimed at deploying 16 zero-emission fuel cell trucks across four locations in Germany, France, Belgium, and Switzerland. HyCET project is a German-funded research project to test H2 combustion engine trucks. In Germany, DHL will operate two IVECO tractor trucks under H2Haul and further two 40-ton trucks from KEYOU and Volvo Trucks under HyCET. In addition, BMW logistics tests an 18-ton truck from DEUTZ AG. Some of these trucks will transport parts between Bavaria (Nuremberg) and Leipzig (BMW plant), utilizing the two new hydrogen refueling stations operated by TEAL Mobility. The installations are located at two stations within the Circle K network.
