What is bioLNG?

BioLNG, also known as Liquefied biomethane or LBM, is LNG of non-fossil origin. It is a biofuel produced from biogas, resulting from the treatment of organic waste streams from, for example, landfills, waste water or agricultural firms. Biogas develops when anaerobic digestion occurs, biological matter breaks down, and gas is emitted in the process. The biogas is collected, purified to natural gas quality and liquefied into LNG.  

Using bioLNG further decreases the emission of CO2, whilst maintaining all the other advantages of LNG, including lower engine sound, lower NOx and significantly less particulate matter emission.
